  1. Call your veterinarian right away if you think your bird has been injured in any way. A broken wing or other serious injury can require surgery to fix and may result in death if left untreated.
  2. Keep your bird warm and safe. If possible, place the bird on its back so that its head and wings are elevated above the ground. If this isnt possible, cover the body with a blanket or towel and make sure the feathers arent touching any surfaces that could cause heat buildup (like radiators).
  3. Dont move the bird until you speak with your veterinarianeven if it seems like everything is okay at first glance! Moving a wounded or unconscious animal can cause further damage and may even be fatal.
  4. Provide water and food as needed but keep them simplebirds dont have teeth so they can’t eat hard foods like nuts or seeds very well and they might choke on anything else crunchy or large enough to swallow whole. Offer small amounts several times per day rather than one big meal; also avoid giving water within two hours of feeding time because it will make digestion difficult for the bird.”
