Caring For Your Canine: Mastering In-Home Dog Care

How to Care for Your Pet: Guide Dogs in the Home

When you bring a new pet into your home, its important to remember that they will need special care. Pets need love and attention, but they also require specific care if they are going to live healthy and happy lives. Here are some tips on how to provide that care for your guide dog or other service dog:

  1. Make sure their food is fresh and nutritious. Feed them three meals a day and make sure their food is of the highest quality. You can buy specially made foods specifically for service dogs, or you can feed them regular dog food with added vitamins and minerals. Be sure to clean their dishes regularly!

  2. Keep their water clean and cool. Give them plenty of fresh water both indoors and outdoors, especially during hot weather conditions when temperatures can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit outdoors! If your pet drinks from the toilet or has access to standing water (such as a pool), be sure to keep those areas clean too!

  3. Provide plenty of toys and playtime opportunities so that they have something interesting to do while you’re away or busy working. Toys should be durable enough not to break easily, but small enough so that they don’t take up too much space on the floor or furniture. Avoid giving your pet items that could be dangerous if ingested (like sharp objects).
